Everdure Classic Pizza Sauce Recipe

Classic Pizza Sauce


  • 30ml / 2tbsp olive oil 

  • 1 small brown onion, cut into small dice 
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed 
  • 2x400g /14.1 oz cans chopped tomatoes 
  • 50g / 1.76 oz tomato puree 
  • 1 dried bay leaf 
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano 
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar 
  • 1 tsp salt 



    Place the olive oil into a heated saucepan and add the diced onion. Cook slowly until soft, but not coloured. Add the crushed garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Add the tinned tomato, puree, bay leaf, dried oregano and sugar. Simmer slowly for 30 minutes, stirring often. Season with the salt, remove from the heat and blend with a stick blender until smooth and glossy.
