Create authentic, delicious pizza with our simple tomato sauce.
Ingredients

30ml / 2tbsp olive oil

1 small brown onion, cut into small dice

1 clove garlic, crushed

2 x 400g /14.1 oz cans chopped tomatoes

50g / 1.76 oz tomato puree

1 dried bay leaf

1 tbsp dried oregano
-
1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp salt
Directions
Place the olive oil into a heated saucepan and add the diced onion. Cook slowly until soft, but not colored. Add the crushed garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Add the tinned tomato, puree, bay leaf, dried oregano and sugar. Simmer slowly for 30 minutes, stirring often. Season with the salt, remove from the heat and blend with a stick blender until smooth and glossy.
