Grilled King Prawns with Mirin & Soy

Grilled King Prawns with Mirin & Soy

Makes 2 entrée portions.   

Ingredients: 

  • 8 large green King prawns 
  • 45 ml (3 tbsp) olive oil 
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed 
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) light soy sauce 
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) mirin

Instructions: 

Step 1. Butterfly and clean the prawns. Place them on a round oven tray. 

Step 2. In a bowl, combine olive oil, crushed garlic, light soy sauce, and mirin. 

Step 3. Divide the marinade in half and brush one portion evenly over the tops of the prawns. 

Additional Ingredients: 

  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped 
  • 1 lemon (use half for juice and the other half to serve with the prawns) 
  • ½ tsp salt 

Instructions: 

Step 1. Add the chopped parsley, lemon juice and salt to the remainder of the marinade and set aside.  

Step 2. Place the raw prawns on a round baking dish, then place into the KILN. Set on high temperature and cook for 90 seconds. Ensure rotating stone is switched on, if using the KILN S Series ensure regular turning. They should be slightly charred, opaque and just cooked through.  

Step 3. Remove to a serving plate, drizzle some of the Mirin soy dressing over the hot prawns and serve with half a lemon. 

*If using the KILN R Series, ensure you deactivate the rotating turntable when inserting and removing dish from the oven*

*If using the KILN S Series, ensure you regularly rotate the dish when cooking, to avoid burning it*
